Quinton House Nursing Home

Mossvale were responsible for the project management of this £1.3m new build care home which is adjacent to the existing Quinton House which as been providing domiciliary care since 1995.

Even though neither are listed buildings, constant communication with the Planners was required regarding the materials used in the construction process, to ensure they complemented the existing care home and its environment in order to ensure the smooth completion of this project.

The project was split into 2 phases with the first being completed in December 2012 and Phase 2 finishing in April 2014.  The build incorporated an additional 30 en-suite bedrooms, communal living areas, day rooms, visitors reception, new kitchen plus external landscaping. The buildings were located some 250m from the nearest roadway which had to be reconstructed and the bell mouth to the existing widened to achieve greater traffic flows.  Foul and storm drainage connections were connected to the existing roadway and water and electricity supplies in the adjacent verge and new car parking was also created.  All operations including obtaining the statutory permissions were carried out by Mossvale.

Mossvale were accountable for the day to day co-ordination of all specialist sub-contractors, facilitating design meetings, compliance with health & safety and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with method statements, risk assessments and to the design and specification criteria of the client.  In addition to this we  ensured that at all times, the residents and their visitors were not inconvenienced in any way because of the build.
