Merevale Children's Hostel

Our Client is a small  Charity Trust which has operated an 'away break' facility for disadvantaged children for a number of years.  Their previous hostel building in this country setting was destroyed by fire over 5 years ago so Mossvale have been appointed to construct a single storey DDA compliant building with improved facilities for both staff and children.

Due to its rural setting this 300 m² building will have an agricultural style of structure encompassing external cladding of the building (walls and pitch roof) of insulated Plastisol coated metal panels to achieve a 'working farm building' style appearance.

The structure will be of insulated cavity block external walls with load-bearing internal walls supporting a trussed rafter roof structure with beam and block flooring.  Security roller shutters are being integrated into the design along with the windows and the main entrance lobby screen being thermally broken, powder-coated aluminium safety double glazed.

Internal walls will provide both male and female bedrooms, recreational areas, along with new kitchen and toilets, a disabled shower room, boot room and comprehensive heating and ventilation systems.

Phase 2 commenced in June 2015 in relation to the fit-out of the building followed by Phase 3/4 being the access roads and car parking.
