Mossvale secured this £1.05m project directly for Bordesley Green Primary School located in Bordesley Green, Birmingham.   The works commenced in June and are due to be completed in January 2016.

Works commenced whilst the school was still open prior to the summer holidays on the creation of a 600m  Sports Hall.  The new hall will adjoin an existing 2-storey building along with a single storey extension to the side, to increase teacher/office space.

The extension is being constructed with a steel frame and rock panel finish.

During the 6 week holidays a mezzanine floor was installed in the existing school hall in the main building to create 4 additional classrooms.  The surrounding areas of the new classrooms were re-decorated prior to the children returning.

Other areas of the school are being upgraded in order to enhance the teaching environment.

A new main entrance and reception area is being created with the existing being transformed into additional office space.

The building will have state of the art Mechanical and Electrical services installed to a value of £250k.

Once all the works are completed a  1960's wooden hut currently being utilised as additional classrooms will be demolished and a new playground will be created.

The site set up and logistics of the works has required in-depth planning as we are working in a 'live environment' the majority of the time.  The site compound is fully herras fenced for the safety of all pupils, staff and visitors and all plant arrivals and departures and material deliveries are scheduled before and after school hours or to coincide with when the pupils are indoors attending classes.

Continuous communication between our experienced site delivery team with the school, pupils and visitors  via health and safety talks regarding the dangers of a construction site has aided the smooth delivery of this project.
